Nick named as 'The Mile-High City' is referred to the state capital of Colorado that is Denver. The city of Denver is considered to be the most populous city in Colorado. The population of the city according to the 2004 census was approximately 564,884. The city is magnificently located on the river valley of Platte and a part of the city also lies on the Rocky Mountains; because of such elevation of the city it has been nicknamed as 'The Mile-High City'. The city is important to Colorado in many aspects; being the state capital the city has immense network of transportation and communication facilities and houses innumerable places of interests.
