In the year of 1971, the landmark Commission of Denver made Larimer Square. It is situated in the first Historic district in Colorado. One can see Larimer Square on both sides of the 1400 block of Larimer Street. Larimer Square is placed at the same place where 'Denver City' began in the year of 1858. In the same year, the General William Larimer established the town by making four cabins. Among all cabins, one cabin was built on the crossing of Larimer Street and 15th Street.
Till the year of 1859, twenty five structures had been made in this area. The structures like Denver City's first drugstore, theater, post office, church, meeting hall and library were built at that time. All of these structures were situated on the Larimer Street. In the time of gold discovery to the West of Denver, a gold rush began in that place.
