Museum of Western Art

Among all the new creations the Museum of Western Art added a new art activities center for the children in the beginning of 1950. In the year of 1971 the Art Museum extended again, so that the building is now known as the North Building. Recently the museum had gone through another expansion, in which it included the Frederic C. Hamilton Building to its main building complex. The museum currently includes an assemblage of three temporary exhibition venues, gallery space and an auditorium which is adequate to offer seats near about 280 masses.

Collections at Denver Museum of Art:

The museum of Western art has eight sections according to which the art collection is separated. The departments of the museum are consists of Architecture, Asian Art, Design and Graphics, Native Arts (American Indian, Oceanic and African), Modern & Contemporary Arts, New World art (pre-Columbian and Spanish Colonial), Western Art and Textile Art and both Painting & Sculpture (European and American). Apart from these sections, the museum of Western art offers some special exhibitions done by renowned contemporary artists or other selected collections. The Denver Museum of Art also organizes several events like films, lectures, special tours, kid fun events, classes, camps as well as various different family events to encourage social interaction.
